Early Dawn joined the Cherry Lane family on 19th February 2014 and has been trading since the 21st February 2014. Cherry Lane has brought new life to the centre with a host of new product ranges added. There is also a new purpose built Plantation restaurant offering a wide variety of foods and drinks, and improvements to access for disabled customers and improvements to car parking facilities. Early Dawn has retained it’s growing operation and invested significantly in the Nursery facilities, as we look to develop and expand our homegrown plant offer.

We pride ourselves on a warm and friendly, family feel with a wide range of products for every customer, why not come and visit us, have a coffee or cup of tea and enjoy the shopping. As well as a huge selection of plants, trees and shrubs, Cherry Lane Garden Centres stock extensive ranges for the Home and Garden, as well as catering for the needs of your pets and wildlife, offering great value Christmas products and fantastic offers on Toys to keep the children happy. We really are more than just a Garden Centre.

Afternoon Club – a potted history

The Club was started in 1981 by two local ‘lasses’, one from Kelsale the other from Carlton. One is still a very active member and a spring chicken in her nineties, whilst the other alas died in 2015 at a modest 99 years young.

Meetings are in the Committee Room at the Village Hall in  Kelsale on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 2:00pm until 3:45pm.

Membership is wider than Kelsale cum Carlton with others coming from Saxmundham and surrounding villages, several using the Community bus to attend.

Afternoon meetings include group participation games with prizes to be won, competitions to complete at home plus of course; lashings of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake if there is a member’s birthday to use as a convenient excuse! There is also a draw and a round of bingo to close.

Several trips out are organised throughout the year (largely less than a hours travel from Kelsale cum Carlton) and include; coastal visits, shopping therapy, local attractions and of course a meal or two popped in to ease the way through the year.

Every year concludes with a hoot of a Christmas Party.
