2018 Ride & Stride

The 2018 Ride & Stride will be held on Saturday 8th September 2018. St Peter's will once again participate in this fun day when you can cycle or walk from local church to church and help raise funds to assist with repairs and upkeep. Last year in excess of £170,000 was raised, the greatest yet. The Annual Sponsored Ride & Stride is a National event and every second Saturday in September cyclists all round the country are out making money for their local County Churches Trust. The idea started in Suffolk, and consistently Suffolk has headed the table of funds...

The Carlton Chorale at Carlton Church

The Carlton Chorale are a small group of singers, originating from membership of The Phoenix Singers from Framlingham. Their leader is Giles Peabody, the conductor for the evening will be Michael Derrick and the accompanist Julian Larkin. They will be singing a selection of music from Elgar, Faure, Mozart, Bach and much, much more. A CELEBRATION OF ‘LIFE in CARLTON’ With flowers, music and history Saturday 4th August & Sunday 5th August Richard and Viv Wills Crisp have assembled stories of Carlton, starting in 1326 with visitations from monks, plane crashes during the second world war and tea parties at Carlton Hall, all illustrated with flower arrangements by friends of the Church. There are also flower pictures from the children of Kelsale Primary School, and free refreshments! On Sunday evening, at 6.30 pm, the event finishes with a musical evening with Charity Quin. St Mary and St Peter's Church welcomes the pupils of famed mezzo soprano Gillian Knight for an evening of Summer Serenade in early August. A concert of well loved solos and duets from Les Miserable to Mozart with local artistes featuring Joanna Barfield, Veronica Downing, Barry Marshall, Wendy Slaney and students from St Felix School in Southwold accompanied by Jonathan Rutherford. Gillian Knight, a long standing soloist at the Royal Opera House now lives in Suffolk and brings a wealth of talent to the lovely setting at the church in Kelsale.
