National Butterfly Count 2021 in Kelsale-cum-Carlton

Suffolk Flora Preservation Trust will celebrate Big Butterfly Count 2021 with two special Open Days for all members of the public, 10 am until 5 pm at Simpson’s Fromus Valley Reserve in Kelsale-cum-Carlton (Gated entrance, on the west of the A12 heading up Mile Hill going away from Kelsale toward Yoxford) on Saturday 24th July, and at Orchid Glade, Boulge Road, Hasketon on Sunday 25th July. Kelsale Social Club to reopen…

Subject to any last minute changes in 'the rules', the Kelsale Social Club will once again be opening its doors on the evening of Friday 21st of May 2021. For those unaware, during lockdown the club has undergone the first stages of a ongoing transformation, new decor, curtains and furniture, with a warm welcome for all! Annual Parish (Virtual) Meeting 2021

Sizewell C conclude surveying of the proposed SLR route

Sizewell C Co. are to begin surveying the land to the north of  Kelsale-cum-Carlton, earmarked for the so called ‘Sizewell Link Road’ should the proposed new Nuclear Reactors at Sizewell Beach get the go-ahead in the next year or so. The Parish Council have been informed that “Contractors working for Sizewell C Co (the company that has submitted the proposals to build the Sizewell C power station) will be undertaking a programme of surveys in the coming months.” Specifically Sizewell C Co. advise that “From Monday, 1 March, topographical survey will be carried out (Monday to Saturday, inclusive) along the route...
